Dogs are amazing in many ways. One of the best things they can do is promote kindness, and Bernie is very talented in that department.
Maybe it is because he is different. Or it could be because he isn’t perfect in any sense of the word. He can’t go up against a golden retriever for gentleness, or a doberman for intelligence.
However, his imperfections tell a story that can help children (and adults) be kinder and more accepting of people (all of us) who are different and not close to perfect.
Whether it is an invisible medical problem, like Bernie’s heart condition, or something more obvious, like a missing eye and a crooked leg, we all have our own story.
I am very excited to announce that Bernie’s story is moving forward quickly and will be published soon. My hope is that it will make a difference in one child’s life. I feel that God is leading us in this project, and with Him as our Editor in Chief all things are possible.
